VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

Hi, my name is Sue Ellson and I’m the Author of ‘120 Ways To Achieve Your Purpose With LinkedIn’. LinkedIn was started on the 5th of May 2003 and I joined on the 21st of December 2003, which makes me one of the first 100,000 people in the world on LinkedIn.

LinkedIn started off as a professional network for members but it’s moved on to a publishing powerhouse, which essentially means that if somebody Google’s your name, whether that be for a job where 95% of decision makers will Google you before you get the job, or business, where up to 85% of business is done by referral, then they’re going to look you up online and LinkedIn is what’s likely to show up if they’re looking for you by name.

I have been consulting on the topic of LinkedIn since 2008 and I’ve brought together that eight years of consulting, advising and training in to 80,000 words in this book.

The book starts off with information on your purpose and then some pre-work starting points, so what you would do before you either start updating your profile or create your LinkedIn profile.

There are some performance power tools before I work on specific information for finding a job, for career development, so anybody who helps people find work, recruitment and human resources practices where we’re looking at it from a HR perspective and how to interpret LinkedIn profiles.

Business and social enterprise is if you’re in your own business or work for an enterprise, whether that be for-profit or not-for-profit and making sure your profile looks great.

Generational tips for individuals throughout their career, so whether you start right from a student through to retirement and a special section for schools, colleges and universities.

Also, international purposes if you’re thinking about becoming an expatriate and living and working overseas.

There’s also personal branding and reputation management, research, referrals and relationships, but I’m talking about business and professional relationships there, not personal relationships.

There’s also information on achieving your goals, you can flick straight to the section on the Top 20’s if you don’t want to go through the whole 120 Ways and also LinkedIn special features and the future that I think LinkedIn could go down.

There’s also a very comprehensive Index in the back which you can use the book as more or less a text book and go back and find specific things that you are looking for. There is also the 120 Ways Membership Program, which will give you access to digital files that accompany the book and that’s free.

This book is available on the 120 Ways website which is found at http://120ways.com and on this website it’s in PDF and ePub versions.

You can get the Kindle version on Amazon and you can also have a nice printed copy sent to you via Book Depository.

I really look forward to hearing your feedback on the book and I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks and bye for now.
